Last night, PRSA National New Professionals (@PRSANewPros) hosted a Twitter chat discussing tips on personal branding. This is the third PRSA chat I have participated in, and each time I have gained valuable insight and discovered some very thoughtful people. Here is a short recap of what I learned.
First off, if you have never engaged in a Twitter chat, I highly recommend you mark your calendar for the next one you hear about. You can talk with professionals, connect with peers all across the country (or globe!), and share your ideas about a topic you love. And the best part? You can do it in your PJs!
This month, president of PRSA’s Orange County Chapter and Disney Social Media Manager, Matt Prince (@Matt_Prince), highlighted the importance of building a personal brand and how young professionals can make a name for themselves.
Life is not about discovering yourself. It’s about creating yourself, and that is exactly what developing a personal brand is! Once you know yourself and what makes you unique, emphasizing those qualities will help you stand out–not just to employers–but to all who know you.
